DIY home improvement projects are more popular than ever, but carpet installation takes specialized skill and expertise. Here are a few simple steps to help you get ready for your new carpet installation.

Be sure to ask about any additional fees related to carpet installation, such as charges for removing and disposing of old flooring or moving furniture if needed.
To help ensure everything goes smoothly on installation day, take care of the following tasks beforehand:
-remove all items from the room
-ensure any electronics are disconnected properly
-remove hanging clothes from the closet
Your installer will arrive fully equipped with the tools and supplies needed to lay your new carpet. They’ll require access to electrical outlets and a small area to store their tools, so be ready to assist them in setting up.
Once the old flooring is removed, the subfloor will be inspected for damage from water, insects, or other issues that may need repair before installation (particularly for pier-and-beam construction).
In the months after your carpet is installed, you may notice some light shedding or small tufts (sprouting). This is normal and does not affect the carpet’s appearance or durability.
